Happy Halloween

Goody Bags 2

Bearing in mind I don't have a lot of time... I have managed to make a few Halloween toppers for my goody bags tonight.

Pinterest is my inspiration as always! Thank you to everyone who shared their ideas on this wonderful format.

Halloween Goodies

Goody Bags - 1

So it is that time again to make goody bags and other sweet treats for Halloween.

This year I wanted to make some fun things for my Stampin Up! classmates.

I used some little black and white spotted bags from Michaels and like last year made the sour cream containers to hold some candy.

Then I used the long thin Stampin Up! film bags and using a skewer I carefully pushed the "twizzler" sticks down and made them into broomsticks.

The Stampin Up! candy wrapper die had been looking at me for a while... almost a year in fact, but I finally got to use it to make another candy container. It is quite fiddly and involves lots of folding and scoring but looks great when its all done.

Lastly the spiders..... my favorite thing at the moment.

I used large lollipops and covered them in a thin black vinyl material. I found a black party table cloth was perfect. Then using 2 black pipe cleaners cut in half and the boggley eyes, Voila! an arachnid... or two.

Welcome Banner

Another Banner

I wanted to make a banner for autumn, so that I could hang it from the first floor above the arch that leads into our family room.

The leaf stamp I used was $1 from the bargain bins at Michaels and I used my Martha Stewart score board to make the rosettes.

I guess I will need to make a Halloween or Christmas one next.

Autumn Leaves

Wall Art - Part II

I found these leaves at Jo-anns. They cost me $5 each and I was able to hang them on some existing hooks. They are made from twigs and I thought they were good to hang on the wall at this time of year. Considering the work that went into them, they are actually really well made.

Scrabble Wall Tiles

Wall Art - Part I

I'm not sure where I originally saw these scrabble wall tiles, but I suspect it might have been pinterest. However I found the company that makes and sells them to order and having worked out on a piece of paper what the display would look like this is what we ended up with.

These wall tiles are 5"x5" and made from birch wood with black vinyl lettering.

The link to the Craft Cuts website is: http://www.craftcuts.com/

They do so many different things with lettering and monograms. The shipping was quick and the product was excellent.

Pumpkins

Fabric Pumpkins

A little project to fill a space in my entrance way. I used some really nice cotton quilting fabric, which I purchased from Joann's and rather a lot of polyester stuffing and wool. I had to get a very large wool needle. This was fine for the smaller pumpkins, but for the largest two it was really hard to sew the wool that divides the pumpkins into sections. So don't make your pumpkins too big!
I used strips of felt rolled up and glued them to make the stalks.

Fall is here!

A Fall Wreath

I had a go at making my own wreath for Autumn. I really enjoyed making this and it only took an hour.
