Wilton Cake decorating

As I have mentioned before (I believe), I have completed course 1 of the Wilton cake decorating classes. I did this at "Michaels", although I know you can do them at many other places. It took every ounce of patience to decorate this cake. I have a new found respect for cake decorators!

Teachers Christmas Gifts 2012

I always enjoy making the girls teachers Christmas gifts. This year I dipped long pretzel sticks in chocolate and decorated them. I also filled cellophane bags with Maltezers and 1 cherry sour ball and called them "Reindeer Noses" (Thank you Pintrest!) and also candy cane Rudolphs.

Stampin Up! Christmas Party

I recently joined a Stampin Up card group and the Christmas party was FUN!
We had a "Secret Santa" gift giving where we all had to make a gift costing no more than $10, using as much Stampin Up product as possible. It was amazing and the creativity of the gifts everyone made was fabulous.

P.S. I made the rosette wreath and the bauble card beside it.

Advent calendar

Talk about a lot of work! Not sure if it was worth it but anyway, I guess it was kinda fun... Thank goodness it's only once a year!

I used the Stampin Up "25 & Counting" Stamp set. Must find something else to use these for.

Paper storage

I do not consider myself to be a lucky person in general, but I must admit I am lucky to have such a clever husband. I really needed paper storage and so I have found if you ask, sometimes you receive! Now I just need a couple more....

Halloween Goodies

I know Halloween was a looooooong time ago, but I want to add some content to my BLOG so forgive me if the next few entries are out of sync with the calendar. It seems a shame to wait, so you will have to indulge me.

I made both the girls a goody bucket and had so much fun making them!
The little lollipop broom you can see to the left was made at my "Stampin Up" card workshop using 3 coffee filters, folded and fringed

A very simple "Boo" card which I used my sewing machine on.

The "Boo Basket" contained little sour cream candy containers. Very simple to make with just a rectangular piece of thick scrapbooking paper, made into a tube and then using a glue gun, seal one end, add the candy and then seal the opposite end in the other direction. Easy to make but the look nice, especially with the one "goggley eye".

Finally, but by no means least my Halloween cupcakes, (fanfare in the background).
I completed the Wilton Level 1 cake decorating course during October, so I was able to use my new found skills almost straight away. Spiders using giant malt balls, ghosts out of fondant and pumpkins using orange sugar crystals, pretzels and jelly leaves. Almost good enough to eat!

Happy Birthday Dr. Seuss

Saturday 2nd March is Dr. Seuss's Birthday and even though this children's literary icon passed away in 1991, it is traditional to still celebrate this day in public schools across the US.
This year each class at our elementary school were set the task of decorating a cereal box, based on one of the Dr's. books.
After a vote, the children for whom I am Room Mom this year decided "Green Eggs and Ham" would be our inspiration. This was our "finished piece".
Voting takes place tomorrow and I'm keeping my fingers crossed our class wins.
