Cards as gifts

Cards as gifts

I made 2 sets of 10 cards to give away as gifts. I really enjoyed making these and all I want to do is make some more...

Owl Banner

Owl Banner

I used the Sissix "Owl" die to make this banner. It was a bit fiddly and time consuming, but I liked the final effect. Well worth the effort.

I made this for a friend, so I hope they like it.

White Chocolate and Blackberry muffins

White Chocolate & Blackberry muffins

I found this recipe on www.taste.com.au. I often use this site to find good recipes and this if definately a favourite. They couldn't be easier to make.

2 cups of Plain flour
2 teaspoons of baking powder
1/2 cup caster sugar
125g white chocolate bits
2 eggs lightly beaten
1 cup buttermilk
1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
100g melted butter
150g punnet blackberries

Method:

  • Preheat oven to 180C. Lightly grease a 12x1/2 cup capacity muffin pan. Sift flour and baking powder into a large bowl. Add sugar and chocolate bits. Stir until well combined.
  •
  • Whisk eggs, buttermilk, vanilla and butter together in a separate bowl.
  •
  • Using a large metal spoon, stir butter mixture into flour mixture until just combined. Gently swirl through berries.
  •
  • Spoon mixture into muffins holes. Bake for 25 to 30 minutes or until a skewer inserted into the centre comes out clean. Stand in a pan for 5 minutes. Turn onto a wire rack. Serve.

April Challenge

My Stamp Choice

This month it was my choice of stamps and I chose a set from Fiskers.
I made 5 different cards using a variety of the stamps although there were still quite a few that i didn't get to use this time round. I love the Fiskers acrylic stamps as they are relatively cheap and reproduce well onto paper.

Lining up the punch and the stamped image ended up being alot harder than i had imagined. Next time I think I would use a circle or square.

I used scalloped circle punch to replicate the bite marks from out of the ice lolly.

I also used a Strawberry die that i had to make this little can of Jelly beans. I din't use any stamps, but i loved it so much i included it in my challenge.

Stampin Up! - Monthly Paper Pumpkin Kits

First Monthly Kit arrives

Stampin Up! have brought out these simple little monthly kits, which have a range of different projects for you to complete.

I think they must be aimed with someone with not a lot of paper crafting experience. However everything you need is in the kit, so it's a good gift for someone else, or an easy 20 minutes making something you haven't had to design, prepare etc.

This kit contained 4 cards to make and yes, the ink spots are part of the design...

This kit contained a glass stamp block, ink pad, 2 unmounted stamps and the cards, envelopes etc.

Looking forward to the next one already.

New toy!

Martha Stewart Doily Punches

Here is my new toy! The new range of Martha Stewart Doily punches.

You can make doilies from 6-12 inches and there are lots of different styles of punches available.

I love them!

Works on magnets and really very easy to use. You have to have the starter kit (which comes with the punch shown) and then you can buy the other punches seperately.
The kit is $34.99 and the extra punches are $19.99.
Of course you never pay full price when you have a coupon!!

Did I mention I can take orders?

A card for friends

I had to make a simple card yesterday to send back to Australia.
Good friends of ours have lost a grand parent so I made this.
Simple but from the heart.
